1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Michael Castro (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles information when you use the mobile application BP Log (“the App”).
BP Log is a manual blood pressure diary. You type readings from your home cuff. The App does not measure blood pressure and is not a medical device.
2. Summary
- Your readings are stored on your iPhone or iPad, not on our servers.
- We do not require an account.
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not use advertising or cross-app tracking.
- We do not use third-party analytics SDKs (such as Firebase Analytics) in BP Log.
- We do not use OneSignal or similar push notification services in BP Log.
3. Information you provide
When you use the App, you may enter:
- Blood pressure values (systolic and diastolic)
- Pulse (optional)
- Date and time of the reading
- Tags and notes (optional)
- Name for reports (optional, in Settings)
This information is stored locally on your device using on-device storage (SwiftData).
We do not receive this data unless you choose to export or share it (for example PDF, Excel, CSV, JSON backup, or share images).
4. HealthKit (Apple Health)
If you turn on Apple Health in Settings:
- BP Log may write the readings you enter (blood pressure and pulse) to Apple Health on your device.
- BP Log does not read your Health history.
- Apple Health is controlled by Apple and your device settings.
You can turn this off at any time in the App or in iOS Settings.
5. Purchases (BP Log Pro)
BP Log offers optional paid features (“BP Log Pro”) through In-App Purchases processed by Apple.
We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status and restore purchases. RevenueCat may receive:
- An anonymous app user identifier
- Purchase and entitlement status
- Product identifiers (for example monthly or yearly plans)
RevenueCat does not receive your blood pressure readings. Apple processes payment; we do not receive your payment card details.
6. Notifications
If you enable reminders (BP Log Pro), the App schedules local notifications on your device only. We do not send remote push notifications through third-party push providers.
7. Optional remote announcements
The App may download a small public JSON file from a URL configured by us to show optional in-app messages (for example update notices). This request does not include your readings, name, or health data.
8. Photos
If you save a share image to your Photo Library, iOS will ask for permission. We only write the image you choose to save. We do not access your photo library beyond that action.
9. Widget
The home screen widget reads summary data shared between the App and the widget through an Apple App Group on your device. This data stays on your device.
10. What we do not collect
BP Log is designed not to collect:
- Precise location / GPS
- Contacts
- Browsing history
- Advertising identifiers for tracking
- Device identifiers for marketing profiles
We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
11. Data retention and deletion
- Data remains on your device until you delete readings in the App, use “Delete all data” if available, or uninstall the App.
- Exported files (PDF, Excel, CSV, JSON) are your responsibility once saved or shared.
- Because we do not operate user accounts or cloud storage for your readings, we cannot delete device data remotely. Uninstalling the App removes local App data from that device.

12. Security
We use reasonable measures in the App design so your data stays on your device. No method of electronic storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for securing your device (passcode, Face ID, etc.).
13. International users
Your data is stored on your device. If you export or share files, you control where they go.
14. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy. The new version will be posted at the same URL with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
